Throwing Copper is the third studio release by Live, released on April 26, 1994 on former MCA Records subsidiary Radioactive Records. It was produced by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads and was recorded at Pachyderm Recording Studio. Throwing Copper reached number 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually surpassed sales of 10 million albums sold with Rolling Stone honouring the album with placement on their list, “1994: The 40 Best Records From Mainstream Alternative’s Greatest Year.” Throwing Copper built upon the earnest sonic template the tight-knit four-piece band from York, Pennsylvania established with their compelling 1991 debut album.
