GDP - Cross Off Matthew

GDP resurfaces with Cross Off Matthew, on bondo a spot vinyl LP, with CD sampler.

This is his first solo album in over a decade and an entirely self-produced set rooted in his New Jersey punk, hardcore and skateboarding background. His familiar East Coast hip-hop is pushed through distorted guitars, abrasive beats and a darkly comic streak, particularly on ‘Island In The Sky’, ‘Location Therapy’, ‘Seroquel’ and ‘Rock For Light’. Older and more reflective but still armed with a biting wit, GDP tackles vice, relationships, late-stage capitalism and the complications of maintaining a creative life.
